I got out from 11:00 to 4:00 today to check out Columbia's lakes (less Kittamaqundi) and Triadelphia Reservoir. Birds of interest that I found: Centennial Pied-Billed Grebe -1 (by dam) Lesser Scaup - 18 (between boat dock and dam. Boats might have chased them off) Ring-necked Duck - 1 (only 1! A male between the last two islands) Hooded Merganser - 2 (by the dam. m&f) Coots - 2 (between the last two islands) Wilde Lake: Canvasback - 3 (2 male, 1 female) Ring-necked - 6 Hooded Merg - 7 (6 female, 1 male) Herring Gull - 1 (near adult, a little black smudge still on the bill by the red spot) Elkhorn Ring-neck - 19 (by the swan platform) Kingfisher - 1 (by the bridge) Fox Sparrow - 2 (singing. I saw one between the bridge and Fore Bay, the other I only heard) Brighton Dam Common Merg - 74 + Red-breasted Merg - 3 (all male) Greenbridge Common Merg - 503 (i actually tried counting them! I know I missed a few) Bonaparte's Gull - 1 (at the pipeline. Seen in flight, and on the water.)
