We saw one flying Woodcock; no peanting, no courtship display. We saw a few skeins of Canada Geese heading approximately north, ranging from 70 to maybe 200+ individuals, and two Great Blue Heron. We heard and then saw a flock of 27 Tundra Swans, followed by a flock of 250+ Tundra Swans, also heading north. The call was still fresh in my 250+ ears from a morning spent at Horsehead with the Kent County club; I hadn't expected to hear it again so close to home. We also saw a group of about 30 large, dark birds flying high up in a curved formation several individuals thick; kind of like a sickle. They were not Canada Geese or Swans. I didn't think they were Cormorants, either; but don't know what the other possibilities are. When we parked after dark at home in Baltimore City, we could hear Canada Geese overhead.
