    Birds migrating over the house this morning included at least 340 = Canada Geese, 37 Tundra Swans, and a flock 7 Black Vultures.  = Consequently, I decided to check Piney Run.  It was crowded with swans.  = It was impossible to get accurate numbers of everything without risking = flushing the swans so here is an abbreviated list:

Tundra Swan  600 (ties the previous high here of 3/19/94) Gadwall  2 Baldpate  2 Black Duck  10 Mallard  50 Pintail  1 Canvasback  30 Ring-necked Duck  50 Lesser Scaup  3 Bufflehead  10 Goldeneye  8 (a record spring count here) Hooded Merganser  30 Common Merganser  50 Red-breasted Merganser  1 Coot  1 Ring-billed Gull 15
