The Blue Mash trail is becoming a favorite of mine. Maybe next week we can park a car at one end and drive to the other and hike along the woods trail to the other vehicle. That would be fun. The whole park is small enough to bird in a morning, too. I went over tonight about 6 PM, and waited until dark, when I had at least 2, maybe 3 AMERICAN WOODCOCKS peenting and displaying above the "marsh". I parked at the Zion Rd. lot and wasn't more than about 50 feet from my van when I began to hear them. The (outside the fence) pond held mostly (displaying) Buffleheads and a pair of Hooded Mergs. I may go back again tomorrow eve with Alli and Nancy to see/hear the woodcocks again. Lots of traffic on the road made it difficult to hear them for any length of time.
