After arriving at 5:20 we had just exited the car when the activity began. 4 and possibly 5 SEOW appeared and engaged in the most vigorous display of what appeared to be courtship. All the birds were very vocal with much diving, rolls and other ritualized precision flying. There were also 5 Northern Harriers (2 adult and 3 juvenile) but they were mostly ignored by the SEOW. They must have got the message loud and clear because they disappeared once the Owls began their flight in earnest. It was nice to meet Sherman from Calvert Co (my apologies, I've forgotten your last name). Eastern Meodowlarks and a pair of resident Ospreys added to our enjoyment of the early evening. Pat was able to get several good quality digital photos of the Owls and the Ospreys.
