(okay, so the flower is similar to salvia) http://plants.usda.gov/cgi_bin/plant_profile.cgi?symbol=LOSI Similar in structure to the Cardinal Flower, they over-winter as little green rosettes and are native to the area. They are also quite prolific and I would be very happy to part with many of these rosettes if someone is interested. Jordan Wilkerson Cloverly, MD Montgomery County jordan.wilkerson@jhuapl.edu jandk@jordanandkaren.com gail, deBaggios's herbs in chantilly lists lots of ornamental salvias, including s. guaranitica "Argentine skies." don't know if this is as attractive to hummers as the darker-blue variety in the Smithsonian gardens. ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
