My lasy e-mail address wasn't working with me so now I'm on this one. Note: If you ever want to send me an e-mail, please put "Bird" in the subject line so I know it isn't spam. Thanks. Anyway, I was back at Whetstone a couple of Saturdays ago, seeing if anything else would show up besides the Canadas and Mallards. I was very happy. The great blues are making nests there. I also saw....6? 7? coots. A whole little flock of ring-necked ducks, and i saw about five male and five female hooded mergensers! I was really happy because I've never seen any mergensers before. But the best part was when I found the grebe. It was a Pied-billed Grebe, and the people I've talked to said that they're pretty common around here. But I have never seen one before, and it was one of my most desired birds on my list.
