The light rain wasn't too bad for walking or viewing. The Blue-winged Teal was in one of the water lily ponds. Other ducks seen at the boardwalk include Mallards, Black Duck, Common Merganzer females and Green-winged Teal. A couple of Osprey were around and a lot of Tree Swallows. Also 3 Killdeers on a mudflat. I met a couple other guys who had seen the RED HEADED WOODPECKER along the river trail earlier. While looking for it again we briefly saw a YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER. Other woodpeckers along that trail included Downy, good looks at a couple of Hairy, Red-bellied and lots of N. Flickers. Lots of Phoebes around and some Rusty Blackbirds. good birding, don't let the rain stop you.
