Yesterday, my 8 year old daughter positively identified our first returning backyard CHIPPING SPARROW. We were playing a game in front of a picture window (because the birds were so active) and she noticed a different bird. We looked it up and she was the one to positively identify it. I watch children for a living and even the 3 year olds in my care have gotten the identification "bug." So keep inspiring those young birders, you just never know. As I've quickly found out, they can sometimes teach us a few things.
