No Red-necked = Grebe, but my first two Bonaparte Gulls (#127 in Charles County) of the = 2004 year. You would think anything named "Red-necked" could be easily = found in southern Maryland, but so far not this year. Is the weather = too nice and they are flying over at night? Other birds of note (mostly from the pumping station at Cobb Island) = were: 10 Red-throated Loons=20 25+ Horned Grebe 3-4 Northern Gannett - closer and easier to see with the overcast clouds 250+ Surf Scoters 2 Black Scoters - one male, one female reasonable close in shore. 150 Bufflehead 40+ Long-tailed Duck Rafts of Ruddy Ducks on the Wicomico River at Hatton Creek Male Northern Harrier on Rt. 257 near Morgantown 2 Red-tailed Hawk along Rt. 257 to Cobb Island 1 American Kestrel - wire on Rt. 257 2 Bald Eagle - soaring over Rt. 257 Female Yellow-bellied Sapsucker still at the house outside of Waldorf. Good birding.
