MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain Lynette and others, On the Nanticoke River near Seaford, DE, all of the available channel markers, platforms and other misc. nest sites along the river have been occupied by Ospreys. The surplus Osprey have gone further afield to find nest sites. One has occupied a light tower at the little league field (though adjacent to a pond). Another occupied (for several years in a row) a light tower at the high school stadium about 2/3 of a mile from the same pond. A third use the top of a grain elevator that was 1.25 miles from the nearest pond and 2 miles from the river. I do not know if they successfully raised young, but I assume that the pair at the high school has since they have returned several years.
