As others have suggested, the "ID Duck" sounds like a Mallard x barnyard 
hybrid.  There are several strange looking Mallard x barnyard and Canada 
Goose x barnyard combinations near here at Long Arm Resevoir, just north 
of the Maryland border, above Westminster, MD.

Personally, I've been wishing that these hybrids would be shot and 
become a meal for someone, before they breed themselves and create more 
strange combinations.  There is no hunting at this resevoir, however.
