Doonesbury and Great Falls

Hey everyone,

It's not quite Hiss' prothonotary warbler but did anyone catch the
Doonesbury reference to the "Maryland Audubon Society" in the November
5th strip. I love it when birding becomes part of mainstream history
and pop culture.

If you didn't see it you can find it online by going to
http://search.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/style/longterm/comics/comics.htm
and choosing Nov. 5 on the Doonesbury page.

Also, on Saturday I saw red-breasted nuthatches, a white crowned
sparrow and plenty of winter wrens at Great Falls, MD. No winter ducks
but I did see three flyover common mergansers and 21 black vultures.

I'll be out there again this Saturday if anyone wants to join me.
