Sharpies are okay, but the Merlin has a "takin names and kickin ass" attitude that I find really appealing. Rather an independent bird, like myself!! I will keep everyone here posted as long as it remains. It may hopefully remain through the mid-winter count period, as this area of Silver Spring is not included on any Christmas count circle.
