Excellent color picture of wild turkeys in The Recorder (Prince
Frederick newspaper), 11/26/97, attributed to Curt Hules. Text:
"No Thanksgiving fowl play here. These are some smart birds -
definitely not your garden variety gobblers. They get people to feed
them, instead of the other way around. They're at home hiking
around Huntingtown, popping out of the woods for an occassional peck
at the trash transfer station on Hunting Creek Road. And unlike
their mass-produced cousins, these wild turkeys don't get all that
nervous about Thanksgiving."
