On Tuesday, December 16, 1997 from 1400 until 1430, 14 Red Crossbills
were in the 80-foot White Pines within the perimeter fence outside of my
office at Liberty Reservoir. They were feeding in the abundant pine
cones at the tops of the trees. The flock was made up of both males and
females.

The Reservoir Natural Resources Office is located at 5685 Oakland Road
in Eldersburg, Carroll County. I'm there Monday through Thursday from
8AM to 6PM. Feel free to stop in while I'm there. Unfortunatly, the
highly nomadic crossbills may decide not to be there. Please note that
there are "No Parking" signs along that stretch of Oakland Road except
near the end of the road.
