Cecil County

Hi all,

No Crossbills this morning. I covered Cecil County from the Delaware line to Conowingo north of Route 273 and zippo. However, met almost every landowner with a pine stand and all were accomodating. I now have tons of places to get free coffee !

Ther were, however, a number of Common Redpolls feeding in Sweet Gum and Sycamore in the creek bottom on Old Conowingo Road just before the serpentine barrens. Be aware that the resident caretaker of the Girl Scout Camp is very particular about parkin' in his gateway. Real inhospitable type. However, Ive just contacted the district management and I figure we'll get access shortly. But, he was busy putting up his new, improved, birder-proof gate this morning. Had a very colorful vocabulary for anyone driving up the road that smiled and waved. I think I'll send my daughter to this Girl Scout camp right away so she doesn't have to wait until High School to learn these words.

I also have the sad duty to report that yet another hillbilly has been found with a dead Bald Eagle, this time in southern Cecil. I'll post more as I learn it.

The good news is the last yahoo that shot a BAEA is due for sentencing shortly, and the prosecutor is insisting on jail time. Let's hope he gets a bunch.
