A single female was found = there yesterday by one of the employees who is a novice birder and = wasn't sure of his identification until he saw the three birds today. = Several flocks of crossbills were found in the pines along Deer Park Rd. = in Carroll Counthy this morning, consisting of both flavors. If anyone = can tell me where along this 2 mile stretch through the pines these = birds were observed, I would appreciate a more precise location. People should check the White Pines at Loch Raven and Prettyboy Resvs. = for flocks at these locations. Another location to try may be the pines = at Soldiers Delight. Their dwarfed growth may allow birders to view = these birds at nearly eye level as well as overlook a greater area from = some of the hillsides.
