Jpeg photo loading times

I have received a few messages that indicated that the Say's Phoebe
photos on my web page were not loading. I suspect the problem is that
not enough time was given to load the files.

My internet access here at the office is a direct lan connection. The
phoebe page loads on my screen in about 3 seconds. I had a friend down
load the page through his internet provider at home through modem access
and he clocked it at 7 1/2 minutes.

I'm curious to hear from others who are accessing through a modem
dialup. How long does it take to load? The three pics are 250 - 275k
jpeg files. 7 1/2 minutes seems excessive to load 750 - 800k. Is that
just because of a slow provider service or are all modem accesses that
slow? I'd like to hear any comments for future reference in posting bird
photos to the web.

Also I received one message from a Bob Fisher about this, but the file
had no signature. It was from an AOL account and AOL in all their wisdom
has stopped adding a FROM: header in their e-mail, so I have no way of
responding to Bob. Bob, if you're out there send me your e-mail address.

Best,

Don
