I went to the Darlington Pharmacy today to refill a prescription. Since that is only about a mile from Conowingo Dam, I went over to see what was going on. (Hey, I'm sick, not dead.) Actually, I got a sandwich first and went to the dam to eat it while I observed the birds. There was quite a bit of eagle activity - I probably saw 12 birds, including 3 adults and saw an immature catch a fish. I didn't even scan the other shore so there were probably more that I didn't see. There were probably about 300 gulls present. There was quite a lot of activity in the corner where the Common Gull liked to hang out. All appeared to be adult Ring-bills except for one immature so I got out of the car long enough to confirm that it was NOT the Common Gull. Since I was scanning only with binoculars, I couldn't tell if there was anything unusual on the wall. Les ====================== Les Eastman les_eastman@netfox.net Havre de Grace, MD
