Waterfowl were about in great abundance. Highlights included harlequin duck and common eider at OC, a pair of wood ducks that seemed bonded to a mallard and followed him everywhere at the first Griffin Road pond, shovelers doing group fishing by swimming in a circle and stirring things up, boodles of canvasbacks and lots (relatively speaking) of redheads at Silver Lake in Rehobeth, all three scoters, both loons, etc. We also had the best (and longest) look I've ever had of a short-eared owl (Port Mahon Road). A very nice trip, with 91 species total without too much early morning exertion. :) Emily Joyce
