Connie Skipper sent me this lovely note regarding Garrett County
goodies. I told her if she could throw in a Pine Grosbeak I would be
on her doorstep tomorrow...before dawn!

Cheers,
Norm

Anyone interested in Garrett County finches and some stunning scenery
(10 " of new snow and still falling)? Pine Siskins and Evening
Grosbeaks are common. I had 44 PISI and 5 EVGR at my feeder on the
24th. Both species visit daily. On 12/3/97 Kevin Dodge saw 5
White-winged Crossbills at Swallow Falls State Park. On 1/26/98 I saw
4 White-winged Crossbills, though most of the flock of crossbills and
pine siskins were hidden in the tree tops. Red-breasted Nuthatches
are also seen there frequently.
