Leave Ocean City on Rt. 50, cross the bridge heading out of town,
and, at Golf Course Road, turn right. (I believe this is the second
light after crossing the bridge.) Drive about 1/4 mile till you see
the pond on your left.

Don't forget to check out the 4th Street Flats while you're there.
The best way lately to view this area seems to be from the Rt. 50
bridge itself. Just after crossing the bridge on your way out of
Ocean City, you can pull off on the shoulder (above Hooper's
Restaurant), park your car, and walk back onto the bridge. About 1/3
of the way across the bridge will leave you looking right down on the
flats but clearly the state of the tide and the affect of recent
storms may have left the area swept clean of birds. Let us know what
you come across!

Also, if you turn LEFT at Golf Course Road off of Rt. 50, drive a
short distance to the commercial marina, then explore the roads on
the left heading back toward the bay, you can find some interesting
views of the backside of the north end of Assateague Island and the
inlet jetties. We always find this area worth exploring.

Oh! And when you drive toward the inlet parking lot, don't forget to
check the Ocean City water tower for the old faithful Peregrine
Falcon that's often seen there.

Drat, I'm envious already! Take me with you!

Cheers,
Norm
