Crossbills / Eurasian Wigeon

As usual I checked Pine Knob Rd Sat and Sunday mornings briefly.

Saturday what sounded like a mixed flock of crossbills flew over while I
was there, and I heard that a flock of mainly White-wings had flown over
earlier. As of 9 AM, none had settled in view. There were at least 4 V's
of Canada Geese and two of Tundra Swans flying north.

Sunday morning I stopped from about 8-8:30 and didn't see or hear any
crossbills, nor had the one person who was there earlier. Later I
returned to the Prettyboy site (Gunpowder Rd 1/2 mile north of
Beckleysville Rd), and got no crossbills, as was the case last week.
There was a sweetly-singing Fox Sparrow, and I heard a Pheasant there
for the first time.

Sunday I went to Long Arm Reservoir near Hanover, and Codurus Lake, but
did not find the Eurasian Wigeon. I ran into Peter Robinson, and he had
not seen it as of mid-morning either.
