Dear Christine,

It is something of a "no brainer" to tell you to explore Olympic National
Park, but years ago when I visited the Seattle area, the variation between
mountain habitat, rainforest habitat, and shore points within the park
provided a wide variety of bird life. Sea stacks can provide looks at
tufted puffins, murres, and some auklets flying by. We picked up a
three-toed woodpecker and a varied thrush right outside our campground
site. Others can suggest more sophisticated trips, I'm sure, but the Park
itself provided us with delightful birding. Good luck!
