Weekend sightings

The more interesting sightings from a visit to Huntley Meadows
and another to the C&O Canal this past weekend.

March 27

Huntley Meadows County Park, Fairfax County, VA

BLUE-WINGED TEAL

NORTHERN GOSHAWK -  one bird in adult plumage circling over the forest at the
		   beginning of the boardwalk.

TREE SWALLOWS


March 28

C&O Canal - Pennyfield Lock, Montgomery County, MD


GREATER SCAUP  -  one male in a small group of Scaups in Violette's Lock and,
		  possibly, the female that was with the male too.

BROAD-WINGED HAWK - one bird also in adult plumage flying north after
		  crossing over the Potomac.


YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER -  had not seen one since last Fall...
