A belated report from Back River from Thursday -- we saw about 300 Bonaparte's Gulls, one Laughing Gull (as Gene S. reported), and an adult LESSER BLACK= BACKED GULL in summer plumage (clean white head) along with about 25 Ring-bills roosting on the mud flat upstream of the Eastern Ave. bridge. There was no sign of the Common Yellow-throat we found there a few weeks ago, however. Gail Mackiernan and Barry Cooper gail@umdd.umd.edu
