Barry went over to the Delaware refuges today (I had to stay home and tend to some other tasks -- grrr). Things were fairly quiet, he reports, but he did see an adult LITTLE GULL mostly into summer plumage at Ted Harvey WMA and a ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK along Rt. 8 east of Dover. No sign of the Black-Headed Gulls at Little Creek -- several folks were looking for them. Bombay Hook was pretty quiet as well, Raymond Pool is flooded. Other birds of interest were about 150 Avocets at Ted Harvey along with 5 or 6000 Dunlin, most still in winter plumage, good numbers of Black-bellied Plovers and Short-billed Dowitchers are in. He didn't see the Reeve reported from Bombay Hook earlier this week. Gail Mackiernan and Barry Cooper gail@umdd.umd.edu
