I searched at the Weaver Farm for about 20 minutes on Monday morning and then again this morning (Wednesday 4/15) from 6:50 to 7:30 and did not see the Say's Phoebe. The last known report is from last Friday 4/10. Ethan Weaver told me that birders had been there looking for the bird last Saturday without (at least to his knowledge) success. There are a couple of birders coming to look for it later today who promised to give me an update either way. I will post here if the report is positive. Has the phoebe finally moved on or is it just being harder to find with the warmer weather - less dependent on the chicken barn insects? There have been other periods during its stay when it wasn't seen for several days. Also the chicken barn has been empty since early last week. A new brood of peeps is scheduled to arrive next week.
