Maryland Ospreyers:

We are pleased to announce a major update to the Maryland/DC Records
Committee Web Site ... a portion of the Official MOS Web Site. Items added
to the site over the past month include the new "Official List of the Birds
of Maryland", which includes all species appearing in Stewart and Robbins,
augmented with all species accepted by the committee as of March 1, 1998
(Some new species will be added to this list within the next month,
reflecting a new package that just completed circulation).

Also, all committee Annual Meeting Minutes/Annual Business Reports from
1986 to 1998 are available on-line, as are various Skins Workshops Minutes.

An updated Review List and the committee's "Goals and Procedures Document"
are provided, in addition to the previously available Reporting Form and
Documentation Guidelines.

Articles on documenting rarities by Claudia Wilds and Claudia Wilds & Rob
Hilton are provided along with some other interesting ID links.

The committee's first decision report and, perhaps, other goodies will be
added in the near future ... a long range goal is to eventually have an
on-line database and photo gallery. Keep checking back!

We are "rolling out" this major site update by giving you, our local
birding community, several days to check out the material and provide any
comments or feedback. After that, we will put a general announcement on
Birdchat.

Please look over the material and feel free to provide comments and
corrections.

I would like to sincerely thank Fran Saunders, the official MOS webmaster,
for the many long hours of hard work on this major project. Also, a big
thanks to Harvey Mudd for proofing the material and providing excellent
comments.

Please forward comments to:

				saunderf@ari.net "Fran Saunders"
				shm@codon.nih.gov "Harvey Mudd"
				PDavis@ix.netcom.com "Phil Davis"

Enjoy!
