This past weekend I made 2 excursions to the Pedricktown, NJ causeway
(aka Mills Rd) looking for the elusive Ruff. And they still are elusive,
in my mind! I learned that you cannot use the Atlantic City tide
schedule to mirror the tides at this location along the Delaware River.

I was also in the Cape May area but did not have great success. The
Piping Plovers were on the beach at CM Point, but the Sege Wren had not
been seen or heard from for days. The Lilly Lake still had the Egyptian
Goose, the one which is noted as likely a captured/released bird, but
pretty nonetheless. In fact the lake sports several unusual looking
mallard-type birds and a Muscovy duck. I did not have success looking
for the Marbled Godwit or Warblers (in the Higbee Beach area), but the
Glossy Ibis are in the area along with the Brown-headed Cowbird, the
Laughing Gulls and both Grackles. Most of my looking was on Monday and
the conditions were quite windy; maybe that was an important factor.
