Dear 'spreyers, Things seem to be heating up on all fronts! Yesterday Fran and I delivered the official team hats to Hal Wierenga and gave Bob Rineer his as MOS President. The hats were widely admired by the folks at Fort Smallwood so watch for them at the Annual Conference at Wisp--we will have 5 or 6 extra (this is a true limited edition--only 12 have been made up!) that we'll be offering for sale to the 5 or 6 highest bidders in the Silent Auction. Hal and Lynn are heading out early this morning for a week of scouting, culminating in the 24-hour count. Check this space on Sunday or Monday for the preliminary results! Okay, now for the money stuff...grin. We now have received 25 pledges amounting to a cumulative amount of $7.10 per species garnered. Further, we've received 13 donations from individuals, from The Backyard Naturalist in Olney, and from the Anne Arundel Bird Club totalling $970!!! Given the short notice of this year's attempt, I'm both pleased and proud of the results. To all of you who have take n the time to dig into your pockets and respond to this year's team----THANK YOU!!!! And for the rest of you, it still isn't too late! Grin...
