Lunchtime birding at Edgewood Arsenal

I went by the "horse stable pond" at lunch. This is a large, wet
weather (we haven't had any of that, have we?) puddle in the horse
pasture here. I found 12-15 shorebirds, mostly Lesser Yellowlegs, but
also Greater Yellowlegs, Solitary Sandpipers, a Killdeer and a Least
Sandpiper.

While there, an adult Bald Eagle flew out of the trees behind the pond
being mobbed by American Crows. It flew around and landed back in the
trees. The crows continued their harangue and then 2 adult Bald Eagles
flew out, made a wide circle and landed back at the same place. I
thought maybe they had a nest in the trees. I was able to find a stick
nest but I think it was probably a crow's nest, thus all the commotion.
The eagles were sitting a couple of trees away from this nest. If they
were attempting to nest in these trees, I think I would have noticed
them before. As I was about to leave, both eagles again flew out and
were escorted by the crows in the direction of the Gunpowder River.
