(Have you any idea how scarce > they have become?) Paul, congratulations on your big day. You were lucky to have good weather. If you have trouble finding bobwhites, maybe you should bird in Cecil County more often. I won't say that bobwhites are common in Cecil, but they are a sure thing at several places, including Fair Hill and Courthouse Point. Other Cecil sightings: first-of-the-year common nighthawk, at my house, yesterday evening. Also yesterday, my son reported seeing several small flocks of bobolinks in the Topps area at Fair Hill (southwest of the intersection of Big Elk Chapel and Gallagher Roads). Last year, bobolinks nested at Fair Hill in large numbers, only to be wiped out by an early haying. And finally, a big thanks to Norm and Fran for hosting the MDOsprey get-together at the MOS conference. It was wonderful to be able to meet some ospreyers face-to-face. And thanks to Mark Hoffman for sharing your gull photos with us.
