Subject: Pacific Loon in DC seen today (5/26) at 4:30pm

I stopped by East Potomac Park on my way home today (tuesday 5/26) and
saw the breeding plumage Pacific Loon near Hains Point at 4:30pm.

I drove in following Ohio Drive then Hains Point Drive, parked at
Parking area 11, across the Washington Channel from the War College.

There were two loons of the same size together in the water, one was
the breeding plumage Pacific Loon, the other seemed to be a Pacific
Loon in winter plumage. Across the channel near the far shore was
another winter plumaged individual which I thought was another Pacific
Loon in winter plumage.
