Hi Janelle: First, congrats on your hummer. I had one (a female) investigating red leaves on my Photinia on Friday, so I hurried out with a feeder, but I guess she had left (the leaves being pretty unproductive!). Still waiting for some customers! The Dicksissels (I have seen/heard up to eight in some years in this area) stay to breed (or attempt to breed, depending on whether they bring off a brood before the field is mowed.) So June is a good time to look for them. Whil e in the area, check for Vesper, Savannah and Grasshopper Sparrows, some years there are Upland SPs as well. Lilypons itself hosts breeding Willow Flycatchers and also Least Bitterns. Gail Mackiernan Silver Spring, MD gail@umdd.umd.edu
