Marcia:

There is an excellent article, "Identification of Snowy and Little Egret" by
E. Massiah in "Birding World" 9(#11), 434-444, 1996. [Incidentally, that is
the British journal, not the American magazine "Birder's World"]. It
contains 22 color plates and much descriptive material.

Other possibilities are the article by I.A.McLaren: "Birding" 21(#6),
284-287, 1989, and that by R.A.Hume: "British Birds" 85 (#1), 21-24, 1992.
Both are much shorter with few plates.

If you have trouble locating the "Birding World" article I could make a
black-and -white xerox copy and send it to you.
