Huntley Meadows Trip Report

PG Audubon field trip to Huntley Meadows, VA on 13 JUL produced a trip list of
56 species.  Early morning fog was washed out by a quick storm and we had nice
weather until we left at 1100. Highlights included-

Little Blue Heron
Am. Bittern
Family of Hooded Mergansers (1 adult female & 5 imm. trying to take off for
the first time)
King Rail feeding bits of a crayfish to a chick ~15' from the boardwalk
Mississippi Kite (brief flyover)
