Hello, My family and I are headed for New Mexico from June 27 through July 6. I am the only birder (and barely) in my family (two adults and two children -- 5 and almost 7). My question is not where to go to see birds, but what should I expect to see? We will be staying in Los Alamos for 5 of the days and then traveling around (camping) for the other 5. We will be visiting friends who will know good natural places, so that is not a problem. I have Peterson's Birds of the US western edition, but frankly find it a pain to use. (sorry) Any advice on the types of birds to look for, any reading material, just anything really, would be helpful. Feel free to e-mail me privately. And thanks!
