Thanks to Jim Stasz and David Smith for the Sugarloaf Whip-poor-will info. I'll check out those locations sometime. This morning, Saturday, a few of us saw a Least Bittern at Hughes Hollow. It flew from the impoundment on the left of the main path to the swampy area on the right. We heard it calling after this, but couldn't spot it. We were also treated to great views of a singing Willow Flycatcher and what may have been a mute Willow Flycatcher (or some other empid). A Prothonotary Warbler sang most of the morning and showed his face on one occassion. Andy Rabin Gaithersburg, MD andyrab@wam.umd.edu
