Don,
	In response to your questions about your swallow sightings at 
Lilypons:

1. Tree Swallows have increased greatly as breeders in recent years, 
particularly in the Piedmont.  The most important vector seems to be 
bluebird trails.  Tree Swallows are early migrants in the spring and 
aggressive territory defenders.

2. Bank Swallows are among the earliest fall migrants and it is not 
unusual to see one in late June.  I know of no colonies near the Lilypons 
area, so the bird you saw was probably a migrant.
