Howdy all!

Does anyone have any more recent news on either the CURLEW SANDPIPER
(latest I know of was July 12 at Bombay Hook in Shearness Pool) or the
first-year YELLOW-LEGGED GULL at Port Mahon (don't remember off the top
of my head--this one might be a month old)?

Has anyone been out to Ted Harvey to look for WHITE-WINGED TERNS
lately?

I'm planning to at least look for the Sandpiper and the Tern this
weekend along the Delaware Coast (Bombay Hook/Pt Mahon/Little
Creek)--and, of course, anything else that might show up <grin>. It
would be nice to have some extra eyes for this venture. If any of you
are headed out that way anyway, I would enjoy birding with some of my
home-town, MDOsprey folks. Sorry this post is at the last minute.
Heck, my whole YEAR has gone so fast it's all seemed like last minute
<sigh>. OK. It was at least a *happy* sigh! Just a worn-out, tired
one. It's a tough job, but somebody's gotta do it <ha-ha-ha>.

If I can yank myself outta bed early enough tomorrow, I hope to be at
Bombay Hook Hdqtrs around 9:30am. I'll be driving a 92 Ford Explorer
(dark green). Ahhh. This really narrows it down, eh? Ok. The driver
of this vehicle will probably be the only birder wearing a Cleveland
Indians baseball cap. Ouch! Don't think at me like that! Ok. I like
*living* in Maryland and birding here, too. I just grew up rooting for
my hometown boys (Cleveland) when they weren't worth anything. It's
sentimental, you know.

Oof. I hope I'm not running over someone else's planned trips! Oh,
well. Forgive me. I haven't been here for most of the year and the
rest of my life has been rather disorganized <blush>, unlike my birding
<smile>. But now I'm rambling aimlessly and it's time to hit the hey.

Good birding everyone!
