Took a quick early a.m. drive to the Lilypons area this a.m. On Park Mills
Rd., just before the intersection with Lilypons Rd., I saw a female and two
juv. wild turkeys in a short-grass field on the right.

At the Lilypons Bridge, I heard a singing blue grosbeak.

I proceeded to the intersection of Oland Rd. and Rte. 85 to look for the
uppies and found five in the shortish field on the north side of Rte. 85 and
Oland (if you are coming from Lilypons, it's across 85 on the right).

I was also happy to find a female dickcissel is still hanging around the
roadside on the Lilypons side of Oland, near the willow-lined drainage area.
It perched on roadside mulberry and pokeweed and was not at all timid. At
the same spot, it was nice to hear a bobwhite in the distance.
