Bobby Hughes and I went to the Pennyfield lock area looking for the Olive-sided Flycatcher, and to the Lilypons area looking for the Upland SP's and Dickcissel; we got nada. I even used a recording of the Flycatcher as we walked the canal. We did see a group of about 20 Horned Larks in the field on the north side of Oland Rd about 100 yards from the intersection with Route 85. When I got home there was a telelphone message from Jim Green; he was in the Lilypons area Thursday night and saw 6 USPs on Greenfield Rd (this is just south of Oland off Rt 85)! Here's hoping that my trip to the DE Bay area tomorrow will be more successful. Joe Halpin Silver Spring, MD email: halpinj @juno.com
