2 juvenile Baird's Sandpipers were at the Harney Road pond near Emmitsburg, Frederick Co. yesterday Aug. 23. They were with a small number of other shorebirds (Killdeer, Semi Plover, Lesser Yellowlegs, Semi, Least, and Spotted Sandpipers). Also there was a N. Shoveler. 6 Upland Sanpipers and an ad. male N. Harrier were at Oland Rd. between Rt. 85 and New design Road the same day. The Uppies were flying around and calling a lot, otherwise they would have been very difficult to find.
