     One Baird's Sandpiper was still at Harney Road Pond, Frederick County, 
     yesterday (8/24/98) at 6:30 pm.  The directions given on MD Osprey 
     were perfect.  It was mostly around the small pond to the right of the 
     large pond.  The viewing was very good with a 40x scope. I had no 
     problem with using the farm road for observation.  I waved at the 
     passing pickup trucks and they waved back. Thank you! Happy Birding,
