Hi all,

I just saw a female house sparrow with a radio transmitter (or what looked like
one) glued to its back, outside my office in Silver Spring.  Does anyone know
who might be doing a research project involving house sparrows.  I didn't see
any bands on its legs, which to me is wierd.  Don't researchers usually band a
bird if its going to go to the trouble of catching it. I know we did when we
were banding shorebirds in Delaware this spring.  Maybe I just couldn't see a
band through the leaves, but I definately saw the small transmitter antenna. 
Just thought this was interesting.
