Hi Folks! Ryan Lesh and I did not disappoint Marshall. The turf farm at John Brown Rd. this afternoon, August 27, held 90 Killdeer, 8 ad. American Golden Plover, 1 juv. BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPER, and about 20 Horned Larks. We spent about an hour at the turf farm, driving the lanes After Receiving Permission at the office. All of the birds were easily seen from John Brown Road when we arrived.....but we left after an imm. male Cooper's Hawk decided to spend a fair time cruising over the fields and chased all the birds away. ` Directions: From the Rt.301/Rt.50 split east of the Bay Bridge, head north on Rt. 301, then turn east on John Brown Rd. The main viewing area from John Brown Rd. is about 1.5 miles east of Rt. 301. Today the birds were on the sod area north of the road, opposite the entrance to the office, but the do have wings!
