While others are scrambling after Bonnie's rarities or heading to
California, I took a Friday morning (8/28) walk with three non-birders
(visiting relatives) at Lake Roland. Nothing out of the expected species,
but a couple of interesting items.
Blue-gray Gnatcatchers - 4 (a little late?)
Yellow-crowned Night Heron - 1
Acadian Flycatcher - 1 (calling)
Solitary Sandpiper - 1
Spotted Sandpiper - 1.

Also found along the trail:
Joggers - 21
Members of Middle School Girls' Track Team - 11
Walkers - 6
Dogs -16
  Canis domesticus - 13
  Canis obnoxious - 3
