Lou,
The trails I walk at McKeldin Area of Patapsco Valley SP begin by
parking on the Howard County side of the Patapsco in Marriottsville next
to the railroad. Then walk back up Marriottsville Road a couple hundred
yards, crossing both bridges. Then walk downstream through the
floodplain forest to the intersection with the North Branch where you go
upstream. At any time take one of the trails to the left into the upland
forest, eventually crossing through the developed area of the park and
returning through the forest to complete a loop. There are many
variations on this theme.
So far, there have been almost no migrants, just local breeders
that have not departed and resident birds. Most of the breeding warblers
have departed.
